Appointments

Yes! We are accepting new clients and referrals.

Many individuals and families seek help for themselves when they are confronted with challenges that stretch their capacity to adapt and add stress and tension to family relationships and daily life. These challenges can become especially difficult during a global pandemic.

If you are experiencing an emergency right now, dial 911, or contact the Georgia Crisis and Access Line at 1-800-715-4225.

If you are seeking help for yourself, your children, or your family, and wish to schedule an appointment with a member of our counseling or psychiatric staff, please call us at 404.378.2300.  All initial appointments are scheduled through our main office.

Please note: If clinicians working in your county have full caseloads, we may be able to offer service with staff in an adjoining county. If not, we do maintain waitlists for the next available openings.  PTP Service Area.

Telemental Health (TMH) Appointments

Online Counseling
Currently, most of our counseling services are conducted online as Telemental Health (TMH) appointments. Counselors connect with you remotely via telephone, tablet or computer, so everyone can remain in the safety of their own homes. You will receive an email invitation containing a meeting link after scheduling your appointment. The appointment scheduler (or your counselor) can answer any questions you may have about online appointments.
Online Psychiatry
At this time, the medical staff in our Psychiatric Clinic currently offer only TMH appointments.

In-Person Counseling Appointments

In-Office Counseling
As essential healthcare workers, our counseling staff can meet with clients in-person on a limited basis in our offices.  These face-to-face appointments are offered only to clients without access to adequate technology for TMH appointments, or when a counselor determines there is a clinical necessity.

To ensure everyone's safety during these appointments, our reception desks and lobbies are closed. Only clients will be escorted into our buildings. Face masks are required to enter for everyone and our clinicians will maintain six feet distance from clients as much as possible. We ask parents, guardians, other family members, and friends to wait outside until sessions are complete when counselors will re-join clients with their accompanying parties. All surfaces and therapy tools will be cleaned between sessions. Office restrooms are not available at this time. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

In-Community Counseling (Schools, etc.)
For those clients seen by PTP staff at school or in other community-based locations, sessions are conducted in private rooms between clinicians and clients only.  Face masks are required for everyone and our clinicians will maintain six feet of distance from clients as much as possible. All surfaces and therapy tools will be cleaned between sessions.

Cancellations

Appointment Cancellations
If you need to cancel a TMH or in-person appointment, please call 404.378.2300 (or your counselor) at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.

In instances of severe weather, PTP may need to cancel and reschedule in-person appointments. If you have not received a cancellation call, text, or email, please call our office to hear a recorded status message at 404.378.2300.
