I am truly so grateful for my internship experience at Pathways Transition Programs. One of my favorite parts of PTP's internship program is that it aligns with core social work values by utilizing interns to serve a population of individuals who may not otherwise be served. Not only were the families receiving great clinical services, I was also receiving excellent supervision, diverse experience, and multiple opportunities to learn and grow. PTP helped me identify the type of counselor I wanted to be. They provide interns with a unique opportunity to collaborate, interact, and learn from a wide variety of counselors with different focuses, areas of clinical expertise, and modalities. Not only this, but the staff is incredibly welcoming to interns and always provide opportunities for positive interactions and introductions to the career field. PTP's internship program fully prepared me with the skills necessary to be successful as an employee. |
Internship Program
Pathways Transitions Program, Inc. (PTP) is partnered with KSU, UGA, CAU, UNG, and UA. We accept second-year master's students from these academic institutions working towards their Clinical Social Work or Counseling degrees.
Interns accepted into our program must meet all of the same professional requirements as new PTP staff. They must also complete intensive training and shadowing before working with clients and families. Interns are supervised by an LCSW, clinical supervisor for the entirety of their placement.
Accepted interns serve our agency and community by providing low to no-cost mental health services to youth and their families who are uninsured, underinsured, or struggling with co-insurance challenges.
