Telemental health appointments provide youth and families the emotional safety of a therapy session within the comfort of their own homes. Therapists create warm, inviting virtual spaces where everyone can explore how unexpected changes have impacted their lives.
For children – Kids might play with some favorite toys that help them feel calm and safe. They may read books, draw, or play therapeutic games, which help children process emotions or learn new self-regulation skills. For teens – Teenagers are encouraged to bring a favorite calming object (putty, fidget spinner, a soft blanket) into their sessions to help them feel grounded and stay engaged. Therapists help them understand the anxiety, disappointment, or loneliness they may be experiencing. For families – Therapists create a compassionate environment where everyone learns to communicate feelings and needs and support one another. The mission – In general, therapists can help youth and families build greater awareness of internal resources and develop coping strategies to build self-confidence and resilience. ~ Lindsey Sodor, LAPC Individual & Family Counselor Pathways Transition Programs

I like what you said about how teenagers need to be comforted. My nephew has depression and needs to get some relief. I'll have to get him a counselor.
